Our Story

Deeply Rooted in History

In the late 1930s, Harry Weinberg pledged his then-modest assets to enable many German Jews to reach safe havens in America. As Harry’s means increased over many years, so did his support of the Jewish community. This commitment remains at the core of the Weinberg Village philosophy.

Weinberg Village was born in 1995 with the goal of comfort, delicious traditional Jewish and kosher food, and a campus where young and old could interact and benefit from one another. Before 1995, Tampa Bay did not have a viable Jewish assisted living facility where residents of all faiths could call home.
Our mission continues to enrich the quality of life of our residents and enable them to enjoy a full, active, and meaningful lifestyle in a familial community with Jewish values and culture.
The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation awarded a $1 million matching grant to Weinberg Village to establish the Weinberg Village endowment with the TOP Foundation. The endowment’s purpose is to ensure the availability of a quality Jewish assisted living environment for any person who needs the assistance offered at Weinberg Village.

Weinberg Village is proud to be an
integral part of the local Jewish community and beyond.
